Our terrazzo tiles are manufactured in presses that combine microvibrating, vacuum suction and pressing at more than 200 tons. Then they are calibrated, polished and rectified. The result is a piece with great dimensional stability, resistance to compression and wear. Its composition is extremely compact and free of air.
They are placed on a concrete substrate and are glued with cementitious adhesive. The tiles are already honned at the factory, it is not necessary to polish them on site. Waterproofing them at the time of installation is crucial. See our placement guide for more information. This waterproofing is done only once. They require skillful installation with an experienced installer.
The actual size of the tiles are 397 x 397 x 18 millimeters, with a tolerance of +/- 1 mm. From this measurement, it is possible to obtain, by means of cuts, pieces of other dimensions. Each unit weighs 7.5 kg and approximately 47 kg per square meter.
